Julia
Stiles, who has quickly become one of our favorite actresses, is one of
the most interesting and creative acting talents we have ever had the
pleasure of laying eyes on. Her deep powerful voice, her long hair, even
her face, is among the plenty of reasons julia-stiles.com exists in the
first place. She's not a glossy "babe" who is just on the screen because
of her looks, she's a very beautiful, very natural person who can actually
ACT, and who takes her roles seriously. And for that I think we've all
fallen for this wonderful 18 year old.
The story of Stiles
is anything but short. She has been around a long time, and no one came
blame you if you haven't heard of her yet. For most, it took NBC's "The
60's" to finally get my attention and for others "Ten Things I Hate
About You." When she began at 11, she had no acting classes, no teachers,
nothing. She simply wrote a letter to a theater teacher asking to audition,
thus landing her a three line part in a play.
It all goes from
there. Her first gig on film was the dreadful Harrison Ford/Brad Pitt
film "The Devil's Own" as Ford's daughter who won't get off the phone.
Her roles continued after that, in a teen seductress film called "Wicked",
a supporting role in "Wide Awake", "I Love You Not", with Claire Danes;
currently she has been in NBC's dreadful miniseries "The 60's" (though
she was excellent, as was Jordana Brewster and Bill Smitrovich, despite
they were given horrible dialogue) and was the star in "Ten Things I
Hate About You" as a sullen teenager who is led into dating so her sister
(played by Larisa Oleynik) can go out as well.
It's odd how we've
grown onto an actress so quickly. She defines a new type of beautiful;
the cool, full natural look with no excessive makeup, clothes or any
other form of artifical enhancements. Besides that, she is an all out
talented actress. She was the driving force behind "The 60's", she was
the only reason that some people came back for Part 2 of the overblown
false miniseries. There is no doubt in anyones mind that she stole the
show in "Ten Things I Hate About You."
Here at Julia-Stiles.com,
we give our best wishes to Miss Stiles for a long and lasting career.
